A community network for women to share, laugh and inspire...
I'd like to ask to name one of your qualities, and elaborate on that quality a little?
What is a special talent or quality you have?
How does it show? Can you give an example? Is it a quality you show all the time or did it show up just today, or recently? Is it a a character trait or something you learned?
I am asking because this week in a group meeting we were asked to do this - mention one good quality of ourselves - and it was SO hard for some women to say something good about themselves out loud... But it was also so deeply touching to hear the things they said, they were so true...

One of my special talents / qualities:
Creativity - especially through my computer - developing things like this social network, presentations and newsletters I do at work, expressing myself through blog posts, learning how to write e-learning and use other software. I love getting absorbed in being creative and developing things from nothing.
I like this discussion. I look forward to reading about others qualities and yours too Jessi?

In that group I said 'courage'. That is something I'm developing. The courage to come forward and, for example, express suggestions to people. To say what I think and feel.
By the way, you can mention MORE than one quality! I'm daring you to mention more! (LOL).

I'm especially good at creating warm inviting spaces and making people feel welcome.
I'm also very adaptable, which is a good thing because I love trying new things and you have to be willing to mess up and feel your way through when you jump into the unknown.
AND - I'm a good listener, non-judgemental (there's an echo of adaptable in there) and I'm good at spotting patterns in people's lives.
Whew ! THREE. How's that for meeting the challenge? ; )

Permalink Reply by Jessi on March 28, 2011 at 10:54 I enjoyed reading about your qualities, Wendy! Joanne, don't you think it's time you shared another one of yours??!
Another of my qualities is having a passion for 'truth' - finding it in myself. This helped me get through periods of very severe illness, doubts and worries.
When speaking with others too I will always be interested in what is 'truth' to them.

Passion for truth - what an interesting quality Jessi! It sounds like it is a very important value of yours.
Today I will share 2!
I am objective - I am good and standing back and looking at situations from different perspectives. I can even do this with many of my own situations even during challenging times.
I am organised - More so than I give myself credit for. After a morning of running around doing loads of errands and food shopping and several phone calls, I realise that what I see as being disorganised is just a feeling of overwhelm and a message to myself that I need to apply some self care, slow down a little and approach things differently. I often tell myself I am disorganised and it is time to replace this old belief!
Permalink Reply by Jessi on March 31, 2011 at 13:08 Wow - being objective and organised! I could use some more of those!
